Wedding FAQ

Can we meet with you?

Of course! I love sitting down for a relaxed chat over a coffee or tea. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to tell me all about the big day. And if you’re not in Sydney, we can chat on the phone or we can Skype.

What are your rates?

I offer a couple of different coverage options but I’m also also more than happy to customise a package to fit your requirements. You can view my 2018 collections HERE.

We don’t like to pose for photos, is that ok?

Absolutely! And I prefer it that way.  All I do is give you a little bit of direction when needed and allow the rest of the day to flow naturally. The most important thing for me is that you’re as comfortable as possible on your big day and truly taking it all in and enjoying every minute.

What are you like on the day?

Very relaxed, approachable and calm. I find that I very easily blend in with all your guests and many times I’ve been asked if I’m a friend of the couple, which I’m totally happy about! I’m there for you when you need me but most of the day you probably won’t even notice I’m there.

How long should we have you for?

A lot will depend on what you expect from your final images, the locations you will be at during the day and the travel time in-between.  The best way to work out the hours you need me is to think of the very first thing you want me to capture (e.g. boys getting ready) to the last thing you would like captured (e.g. first hour of dance floor, you and your partner leaving the venue etc). I find most couples choose to have me for 8-10 hours as this gives me the best opportunity to tell your whole story.

What happens on the day?

Depending on how long you choose to have me for, the usual day pans out like this: I start the day by photographing the boys getting ready and then the girls,  I then make my way to your ceremony venue and shoot the details and guests arriving. Following the ceremony I will spend approximately half an hour photographing family portraits. While your guests are enjoying drinks and canapés, we will sneak away for around an hour for location photographs. Reception coverage follows and I spend most of the time capturing all the candid moments.

This gives you a general idea and is not a strict plan. All wedding days are unique and your day may not follow this exact sequence. You and I can work out a plan that suits you.

Do you take family photographs on the day?

Of course. I believe that formal family photographs are of immense historical value and a wonderful tradition. Prior to your wedding day I will ask you to provide me with a list of the family groups you would like me to photograph. On the day I will ensure that this part of your day is relaxed and pleasant.

Where are you based?

I live in beautiful Sydney, NSW and I shoot weddings all over Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, Northern Beaches and Sutherland Shire. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and I still cover weddings in Adelaide, including the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Victor Harbor. I am also more than happy to travel outside these locations and have also shot weddings in Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

Will you travel for our wedding?

Of course! I love traveling to awesome destinations to shoot weddings. Travel outside the Sydney area attracts a small travel fee. If you’re getting married overseas please get in touch, I’d love to have a chat and see how I can help out.

If by some crazy chance you’re getting married in Croatia, then I’m your girl! I speak fluent Croatian and I’m very familiar with Croatian traditions and way of life.

How do we book you for our wedding day?

To secure your wedding date I require a booking fee and a signed agreement. Once that is done, we’re good to go and can start planning!

When can we expect to receive our photographs?

You will receive your photographs approximately 5 weeks after your wedding day, sometimes even sooner!

What equipment do you use?

I use professional Canon cameras and fixed L series lenses.

Do you personally edit the photographs?

Yes, I personally edit all images I deliver to you. I don’t outsource my editing because I want to retain the creative control over my work. My aim when editing your images is to present you with natural images that you will cherish forever.

Do you retouch/photoshop photographs?

While I will fix up the odd little imperfections (i.e. removing a fly on your dress, a distracting powerpoint and so on) I do not heavily retouch images. I believe that photographs of your wedding day should represent the real you and I find that natural photographs are always the most flattering and the ones that will stand the test of time.

Have you studied photography?

While I am mostly self-taught, I have studied at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney and also at the Centre for Creative Photography in Adelaide. While studying for my psychology degree I took a sub-major in Multimedia Studies which gave me an opportunity to learn about colour theory, composition and design.
